Miami dominated a new ranking of the top grossing U.S. restaurants last year, with Brickell’s Komodo at the top.

Restaurant Business listed the top 100 grossing independent restaurants in 2021.

Komodo in Brickell had $41 million in sales in 2021, putting it first, according to the website. A total of 285,000 meals were said to have been served at Komodo last year, with an average check of $115.

Swan in the Design District ranked third, with $31M in sales, while Mila in Miami Beach was fifth with $27M.

In total, 15 restaurants in the Miami area made the top 100 list in 2021. That is more than all of the restaurants in both New York (10) and California (11).
