Florida’s minimum wage increased from $11 to $12 per hour on September 30th, 2023 as part of a voter-approved six-year plan to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. More than 61% of Floridians cast ballots voting yes on a constitutional amendment in 2020 to increase the minimum wage. In September 2021, it increased by $1.44 to $10 an hour. Then, every year on Sept. 30 it will be raised by $1 until it reaches $15 in 2026. Future increases would then be adjusted for inflation again starting in 2027.
